Sansom Taco Seasoning
Savory Taco Meat with SANSOM Taco Seasoning®
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 oz SANSOM Taco Seasoning ®
- 1/2 cup water
- Optional: 1/4 cup diced onion (for added flavor)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or pan, cook the ground beef or ground turkey over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat if desired.
- Add the diced onion (if using) to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
- Sprinkle the 1 oz of SANSOM Taco Seasoning ® over the browned meat and stir to combine.
- Slowly pour in the 1/2 cup of water and stir well, scraping the bottom of the pan to incorporate any browned bits.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the seasoning is fully incorporated, and the desired consistency is reached.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you prefer a spicier kick, reduce the amount of meat to 1 lb. For a milder level, increase the meat to 3 lbs.
- Serve the savory taco meat in taco shells, burritos, salads, or as a topping for nachos or tostadas.
Notes
- For spicier version, use less ground meat and for milder version use more.
- For a richer flavor, you can substitute beef broth or chicken broth for the water.
- Feel free to add additional vegetables like bell peppers, diced tomatoes, or corn to the taco meat mixture.
