Sansom Taco Seasoning

Savory Taco Meat with SANSOM Taco Seasoning®

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 oz SANSOM Taco Seasoning ®
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Optional: 1/4 cup diced onion (for added flavor)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or pan, cook the ground beef or ground turkey over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat if desired.
  2. Add the diced onion (if using) to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  3. Sprinkle the 1 oz of SANSOM Taco Seasoning ® over the browned meat and stir to combine.
  4. Slowly pour in the 1/2 cup of water and stir well, scraping the bottom of the pan to incorporate any browned bits.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the seasoning is fully incorporated, and the desired consistency is reached.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you prefer a spicier kick, reduce the amount of meat to 1 lb. For a milder level, increase the meat to 3 lbs.
  7. Serve the savory taco meat in taco shells, burritos, salads, or as a topping for nachos or tostadas.

Notes

  • For spicier version, use less ground meat and for milder version use more.
  • For a richer flavor, you can substitute beef broth or chicken broth for the water.
  • Feel free to add additional vegetables like bell peppers, diced tomatoes, or corn to the taco meat mixture.
